DESIGN RATIONALE
The US Department of Education opened a contest as a form of solicitation, as research to find vendors for a complete redesign of their website, ED.gov. Their current site is archaic, cumbersome, confusing, and very poorly organized. The UX/UI is very weak and the user is bombarded with information with no clear hierarchy. The approach for this design was to bring the Ed.gov website to a much more modern standard, a clean design, be modular in nature and responsive, and incorporate more video and imagery. Unfortunately, this design was not chosen as the winner of the contest, and no new RFPs have been issued.
